Kitchen and bath product development, materials, and product operations

KES began in 1996 as an OEM manufacturer for established plumbing-fixture brands. Kenny joined the family business in 2012, co-founded the KES consumer brand, and today leads the company as CEO.

At KES, Kenny focuses on product development, market insight, product strategy, and product operations. He works across product, engineering, sourcing, quality assurance, operations, and customer-facing teams to identify real customer needs and translate them into practical product decisions.

His work includes evaluating new product and category opportunities, defining product-development priorities, reviewing material and functional tradeoffs, guiding product testing and validation, and improving products based on market signals and customer feedback.

Kenny is particularly interested in how material choices, product construction, installation experience, everyday usability, and long-term maintenance affect the performance of kitchen and bathroom products.

Most of what fails in a kitchen or bath product fails somewhere the buyer never sees — the cartridge housing, the waterway, the threads behind the escutcheon. That is where I spend my time. A spec sheet that says “metal construction” does not tell you which parts are metal, and plastic is not always the wrong answer: a certified polymer is fine in a dry, low-stress role. What I care about is that the part holding pressure for ten years was chosen on purpose — and that we can say which part that is.

Kenny is available to journalists, editors and researchers covering kitchen and bath products, home improvement, materials and manufacturing. Recent and recurring topics:

  • What “metal construction” actually means on a faucet spec sheet — and what the phrase legally hides
  • Why lead-free certification (California AB 1953, NSF/ANSI 372) says nothing about plastic internals
  • Where faucets actually leak: cartridges, O-rings and supply lines, and which failures are preventable
  • Matching material to job: 18/8 stainless steel, solid brass and zamak, and the honest tradeoffs between them
  • What OEM manufacturing reveals about how a product reaches a retail shelf
  • How customer reviews and after-sales data feed back into product design

What Kenny Works On

Product development

Kenny leads product development at KES. He explores new product and category opportunities, defines the customer problems a product should solve, sets development priorities, and decides the tradeoffs across materials, construction, function and everyday use experience. He drives sampling, testing, validation and iteration through to launch.

Market insight

Kenny reviews customer needs, product reviews and recurring complaints, follows kitchen, bath and home-product trends, and studies competing products, material choices and market gaps. He works with the team to turn those market signals into concrete product opportunities.

Product strategy

Kenny owns product strategy at KES. He decides which categories and product directions to prioritise, defines positioning, target users and core value, balances user need, product performance, cost and verifiability, and makes the final go / no-go call on new products.

Product operations

Kenny coordinates across product, engineering, sourcing, quality, marketing and customer-service teams. He helps drive product improvements from customer feedback and after-sales issues, works to keep product information consistent across the website, product pages and media materials, and supports turning product knowledge, test results and development insight into public content.
